The most common winterization mistake is that DIYers don't treat the fuel system properly, says Soundings technical advisor Erik Klockars.
You can treat your fuel with a stabilizer and an additive aimed at combating ethanol issues, but it does your engine no good if you don't let the boat run long enough for the mixture to travel through the entire system to the engine.
